The GWIS/GOFC meeting brought together international remote sensing experts in the field of fire to deliberate on existing information from various sources. The aim was to consolidate information on different aspects of fire at both regional and national levels to provide a comprehensive understanding and evaluation of fire regimes and their effects on a global scale. Additionally, the meeting provided a forum to discuss and support operational wildfire management at both global and national levels. Members of the GWIS and GOFC-GOLD fire implementation team (Fire IT) explored various options for enhancing satellite remote sensing research on fires in different countries. Following the meeting, a WildfireSAT meeting was scheduled during November 16th and 17th, 2023.
